Well the walk is the reason I do this thing. Though to be truthful I've had a complete rest for a week and a troublesome bruised rib has meant strenous excercise is best left alone. Probably a good thing as I have been over-doing it a bit recently.
The last walk I did was from my brother's flat in the heart of Brigthon up to the Devil's Dyke n back. So I think that was about 12 miles all told. All Brightonians will know Southover Street and I also climbed to my brother's flat which is on the 13th floor of a block of flats. So that was all good. Sounds quite boring when yo write it down.
The Friday before I walked from my house across to Bramley and down the Downs Link as far I could go towards Brighton. I got as far as Partride Green before chafing mainly and jelly legs forced me to stop. My brother reckoned that was 30 miles so I was chuffed about that.
The break has been good but I'm itching to keep up the training.
Anybody got any good tips about chafing. Any thoughts please post or email me.
keep on truckin'

I've tried a few things for chafing, they work to various degrees - talcum powder is quite effective; vaseline, E45 cream or the like also works quite well; padded cycling shorts are also quite good
hope this helps Dave
cheers
